On Thursday December 10th, 2009 Curaçao Leadership forum and the Association of Public Administration Science of the Netherlands Antilles (VBNA) jointly organizes a forum, where three organizations elaborate on their personnel policy in a time with many changes.

The meeting takes place from 7.25 till 9.45 pm in room B2 of the University of the Netherlands Antilles (UNA).

Approaches to the following changes and challenges will be discussed:

  • Aqualectra (Utility Company); SOAB (internal accountants’ bureau of the governments of the Netherlands Antilles) and RBTT (a commercial bank) are prepared to discuss their recruitment and selection policy and how they handle retaining and development of their staff, where attention will be given on aspects such as;
  • Planning for the departure/pension of a generation of staff that has valuable knowledge and experience;
  • How they retain and develop talent;Human Resource Management
    • How do you prepare your staff for changes in the external environment of your organization, for example:
      • At Aqualectra that is technological changes (new techniques that are introduced) as a component of Aqualectra multiannual plan;
      • At SOAB the changes at a wider scope in the public sector and the related sectors.  How are these challenges handled, so that SOAB can continue to provide quality?
      • At RBTT how they go for with the new developments in local bank world.
The purpose of this forum session is to shed light on what works in Human Resource Development (HRD) and Human Resource Management (HRM) areas and to showcase examples, for other organizations which may be facing the same challenges.
